West Ham fan group Hammers Chat offering free London Stadium boat event for charity
Here is an offer you can’t refuse – a free pre-match Hammers boat party at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park prior to the upcoming Manchester City fixture on Wednesday [February 1].
Hammers fan group Hammers Chat have been running pre-match events on the water that runs through the London Stadium grounds since the start of the season and now, they’ve decided to make one of their events free in aid of a special charity.
The next event, prior to the City game, will be free to book a ticket, although a dedicated charity has been assigned and all the money donated on the gate will be sent to Jonjo Heuerman’s appeal at the Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK.
Hammers Chat’s very own Geo Mackie confirmed the news to Essex Live and revealed that it was his way of giving something back to the loyal supporters that regularly attend the events and obviously to support a charity close to every Hammers fans hearts.
“Jonjo does a fantastic job raising money for BM6 and it is a pleasure to help him in some ways. We have been selling his wristbands on the boats since December and it’s brilliant to see so many people wear them.
“Hopefully the boats before the Man City game are a success for Jonjo and it’s our way of saying thank you to the members who join us each week and allows others to give it a try for free.
“Raising money for a great cause, creating a proper West Ham atmosphere with a few beers and a BBQ, then hopefully watching the team pick up three points against Man City. That’s the real result!”
